Longer (and more personal) version
I am an artist based in Whitefish, Montana. Working professionally in textile design and graphic design, I'm driven by the spirit of discovery, and aim to express that sincerity in all of my art and design work.
Inspiration comes from all around me. However, nature, artistic abstraction and Eastern sensibilities, are the constants that fuel me. My personal aesthetic has been formed by the places I've lived. Firstly, having grown up in the optimistic beauty of Southern California. Second, having lived for many years in the sophisticated complexity of New York City. Currently, I'm immersed in the deeply inspiring landscape of North West Montana.
Although I earned my BFA in Textile/Surface Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, I am an eternal student. I have continued my education, studying a diverse range of the arts, throughout my lifetime. Driven by experimentation, I am passionate about exploring materials in order to arrive at new and innovative outcomes.
My professional work experience includes, designing and styling patterns for apparel and for the home furnishing industry. As well as,, working with local businesses providing graphic design services that include identity packages and marketing materials. As a creative thinker, I find joy in solving complex design problems for the clients I work with.
